Shift Pattern: Rotating Shift 3 Weeks Days / 1 Week Afternoons
Working Hours: Monday to Friday Days: 06:00 to 16:00 (47.5 hour week) 3 consecutive weeks; Monday to Friday Afternoons: 12:00 to 22:00 (47.5 hour week) 1 week in every 4. Must be flexible to work odd weekends as and when required.
Empowered Personnel is currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated HGV Technician to join a reputable and established transport company based in Kirby-in-Ashfield Nottingham (NG17). This is a permanent role offering excellent pay, consistent hours, and a varied workload across workshop and local site environments.
As a HGV Technician you will be maintaining and repairing HGV vehicles using hand held tools and power tools to diagnose and resolve vehicle issues.
HGV Technician Key Responsibilities:
- Performing diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a range of HGV vehicles within a well-equipped workshop.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair HGV vehicles effectively.
- Carrying out occasional roadside inspections and repairs across 4 local sites.
- Shunting HGV vehicles between company sites (if you have HGV licence).
- Transporting HGVs to and from MOT test centres (if you have a HGV licence).
- Completing repair tasks to DVSA safety and compliance standards.
- Keeping clear maintenance records and ensuring all work is completed to high standards.
- Maintaining a safe, tidy, and organised work environment.
HGV Technician Requirements:
- Fully qualified and ideally have a minimum of 3 years previous experience working as an HGV Technician is essential.
- Good mechanical and diagnostic skills on HGVs/commercial vehicles.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence to travel between sites in the company van.
- HGV licence highly desirable but not essential.
- HGV Vehicle maintenance qualification desirable but not essential.
- A hands-on, proactive can-do attitude and ability to think independently.
- Willingness to travel locally between sites and adapt to a rotating shift pattern.
