British Sign Language Interpreter

TeacherActive is currently seeking a British Sign Language Interpreter for an inclusive Further Education setting in Cardiff. This position offers flexible working hours and an opportunity to gain experience in an educational environment, contributing to a college committed to student progression, success, and well-being.

As a British Sign Language Interpreter, you will collaborate with the tutor to support hearing-impaired students on a 1-2-1 basis, assisting with general school tasks and helping students develop skills to achieve their best.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum Level 2/3 certification in British Sign Language (BSL).
• Effective communication skills.
• Recent experience communicating via BSL in educational or similar settings.
• Ability to adapt communication methods to individual student needs.
• Flexibility to handle varying schedules and educational needs.
