THE OPPORTUNITY

Responsibilities

In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Leading the restaurant team in successful day-to-day operations by example and as a role model of Chipotle’s values and culture.
  2. Acting as General Manager when the General Manager is not present in the restaurant.
  3. Training and developing the restaurant team, especially Kitchen and Service Managers.
  4. Ensuring employees are paid properly, receive appropriate benefits, and are prepared for career advancement.
  5. Identifying talent, interviewing, and hiring new Crew members.
  6. Participating in personnel decisions regarding the restaurant team, including transfers and terminations.
  7. Writing schedules that meet business needs to ensure a great customer experience while maintaining financial responsibility.
  8. Assisting the General Manager with administrative duties such as payroll, inventory, food ordering, and cash handling.
  9. Communicating company changes and focus to the team effectively.
  10. Building sales and managing the restaurant budget.
  11. Maintaining a clean restaurant with excellent quality food and customer service.
  12. Ensuring sanitation standards are met within the restaurant.
  13. Assisting with local store marketing opportunities.
  14. Emphasizing and adhering to safety and security standards, and training employees in appropriate responses to unsafe situations.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Develop positive working relationships with all restaurant personnel.
  • Speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and employees.
  • Be able to speak, write, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
  • Adapt and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have previous supervisory experience in the restaurant industry.
  • Possess exceptional customer service skills.
  • Be able to lead and develop people.
  • Have experience as a Chipotle Service Manager.
  • Possess an A.A. or B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Have knowledge of and ability to use a PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
