Our client, a leading manufacturer in West Yorkshire, seeks to appoint a Production Manager to take overall responsibility for manufacturing and engineering operations in a fast-paced environment. You will lead and motivate a team of supervisors (6) and charge hands (10) alongside having overall responsibility for 100+ operators and technicians across two sites. The successful Production Manager will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in a manual final assembly process.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a large team of supervisors, skilled technicians and semi-skilled operators
  • Ensure smooth running of plant to hit production targets
  • Introduce lean and continuous improvement activity to streamline production
  • Train staff and offer progression opportunities

Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a production manager / manufacturing manager role
  • Experience leading a semi-skilled workforce in a manual production setting
  • Hands-on attitude with shop floor focus. Lead and motivate diverse teams
  • Formal lean or continuous improvement training an advantage
