The EY Financial Services AI & Data Consulting team is continuing to grow and develop unique advisory propositions in response to market needs and demand. We fully support the Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE) vision for an ecosystem with Data, AI and emerging technology at the core and are now recruiting for new colleagues as part of our strategic investment to help deliver this vision.

We are currently looking for exceptional Managers with strong experience in Financial Services and Data Platform solutions to join our team and actively contribute to this mission, locally and globally. The Opportunity

In this AI & Data consulting role, you will work collectively with our clients to define AI & Data solutions that will enhance the client's ability to solve business problems and deliver value.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Understand business problems and propose smart, pragmatic, and diverse approaches to address a variety of business problems into AI & Data solutions.
  • Design, build, and deploy solutions that seamlessly combine AI/ML and Data solutions with broader enterprise architecture.
  • Determine the value proposition of data science / machine learning solutions versus other alternatives.
  • Elevate EY solutions and empower others to adopt them through re-usable services, frameworks, templates, and knowledge sharing.
  • Business development; including the development of long-term trusted advisor relationships with our clients and Data Platform vendors.
  • Manage and track engagement financials, including time management, billing and invoice management.
  • Develop our people through coaching, talent development, recruitment and formal performance management.
  • Ensure internal risk and admin processes are adhered to.
  • Participate actively in the local Financial Services ecosystem, collaborating with our clients, FinTechs and Universities as we advance Scotland's position as a world leader in Financial Services.

Skills and attributes for success

We're looking for people with a passion for the delivery of AI & Data solutions that deliver positive outcomes for customers, regulators and shareholders. You should have leadership, critical thinking and teamwork skills, and an ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.

To qualify for the role, you must have some or all of the following:

  • 5+ years' of FS experience in one of the following sectors: Banking, Capital Markets or Insurance.
  • 3+ years' experience applying data science / machine learning in a commercial setting.
  • Track record of successfully delivering end-to-end Gen AI / Data science / Machine learning solutions.
  • Experience creating new AI propositions / assets/ solutions and launching these to the market.
  • Proficient level programming skills, preferably Python.
  • Software collaboration experience using version control, preferably Git.
  • Experience using foundational agentic AI, Gen AI, data science libraries.
  • Experience querying for and manipulating data using database technologies.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices, covering the full cycle from design, experimentation, deployment, to monitoring and maintenance of machine learning models.
  • Experience of Agile and traditional SDLC delivery methodologies.

Nice to have

  • Relevant experience in Data and Cloud Platform Technologies.
  • ML Certifications on Snowflake, Databricks, or NVIDIA advantageous but not essential and EY will invest in the right candidate to support their professional development.
  • A point of view on how the FS industry will continue to evolve and how the technology, innovation and FinTech landscape will shape the future.
  • Previous consulting experience would be a plus, but so would the curiosity and ambition to develop your career with a consulting role.
