As the Water Treatment Engineer, you will take full ownership of all water treatment systems on-site. This will include the operation, maintenance, and compliance of water systems, with a particular focus on cooling towers. You will ensure that the building's water systems are managed effectively, safely, and in line with current legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of water treatment systems, including cooling towers and closed systems.
  • Conduct regular water sampling, testing, and monitoring to ensure compliance with water hygiene and Legionella regulations.
  • Implement and manage effective water treatment programs to prevent scaling, corrosion, and bacterial growth.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and descaling of cooling towers.
  • Monitor and maintain chemical dosing systems to ensure optimal water quality.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to cooling tower operation and efficiency.
  • Ensure the site complies with all relevant legislation, including ACOP L8 and HSG274.
  • Maintain accurate records of water testing, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide detailed reports and updates to the site management team.

Requirements:

  • Relevant water treatment qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQs, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of ACOP L8, HSG274, and other water hygiene legislation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot water treatment issues.
  • Excellent record-keeping and reporting abilities.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
