The Council provides a wide range of employability opportunities for people in South Ayrshire in order to support them in gaining experience, training and employment. This programme is part of the council’s youth employability initiative. We are committed to offering career development opportunities for young people within South Ayrshire and to comply with the conditions of funding from Skills Development Scotland, applicants must fall into the following categories before the start date of 21 July 2025:

  • 19 years of age or under
  • 29 years of age or under and be a care experienced young person
  • 29 years of age or under and have additional support needs

The assessment centre and interviews will take place week on 17 June 2025. These dates are set and cannot be changed.

REQUIREMENTS

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made. Rates of Pay:

  • For candidates under 18, the rate of pay will be £7.55
  • For candidates aged 18 - 20, the rate of pay will be £10.00
  • For candidates aged 21 and over, the rate of pay will be £12.21

The work style for this post is Frontline worker.
