I’m recruiting on behalf of a leading design & build contractor with a strong track record in the UK water sector. They’ve just secured a major long term framework with Severn Trent, and we’re looking to bring in a Principal or Senior Civil Engineer to support delivery from their Derby office.

The Role
You’ll be a key part of the regional civils team, leading and delivering design packages for water and wastewater treatment projects. Responsibilities include:
- Producing and overseeing civil designs that are practical, cost-effective, and buildable
- Coordinating across internal and external design disciplines
- Supporting proposal teams with technical input and design estimates
- Developing and maintaining design standards and processes
- Ensuring compliance with CDM 2015, health & safety, and environmental regulations
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers
- Contributing to a positive, client-focused culture
What They’re Looking For
Key experience:
- Strong background in civil/infrastructure design
- Sector experience in water, highways, energy, rail, or similar
- Solid knowledge of structures, hydraulics, materials, and geotechnics
- Familiar with CDM 2015, CESWI, BS, WIMES (or similar standards)
- Skilled in producing rationalised and efficient layouts
- Comfortable leading design teams and managing workload
- Relevant degree or HND in Civil Engineering
- Chartered or working toward chartership (ICE or equivalent)
- UK driving licence
