Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for risk analysis in complex project environments? A ground-breaking clean energy programme is seeking a Risk Analyst to join its central Programme Management Office (PMO). This is a rare opportunity to be part of a major UK initiative focused on demonstrating the commercial feasibility of nuclear fusion energy - one of the most exciting frontiers in the energy sector.
As a Risk Analyst, you'll support the development and implementation of risk management practices across a vast and technically complex portfolio. You'll play a key role in providing data-driven insights that improve decision-making and help steer the programme to successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the consistent application of risk management processes across programme workstreams
- Facilitate risk identification and assessment sessions with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Maintain high-quality risk registers at both project and programme levels
- Track and follow up on mitigation actions, ensuring timely updates from risk owners
- Produce clear, insightful risk reports, dashboards, and heatmaps for governance and delivery teams
- Work alongside planning, engineering, and controls teams to ensure risk is fully integrated with scheduling and milestones
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the PMO, including enhancements to tools, templates, and training
- Ensure adherence to industry standards such as ISO 31000 and Government Project Delivery Frameworks
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience working in a project or programme environment with exposure to risk or project controls
- Solid understanding of risk management processes and qualitative/quantitative analysis techniques
- Familiarity with risk management tools (e.g., Active Risk Manager (ARM), Predict!, or similar platforms)
- Strong attention to detail, with a methodical and analytical approach
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other common business tools
Desirable:
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, engineering, or regulated programmes
- Awareness of structured risk frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, APM Risk)
- Experience preparing risk dashboards and data visualisations for senior stakeholders
- A relevant qualification or certification in risk analysis, risk management, or project controls
