A long established manufacturer of personal care and cosmetic products has partnered with Woodstock Recruitment to assist in the hire of a new planning assistant, to support their supply chain team. Joining an existing, long serving and collaborative team of planners and buyers, you will bring with you experience of working within an FMCG manufacturing environment from a supply chain / administrative background. Key responsibilities: * Managing the Procurement Inbox ensuring Order Confirmations are received from suppliers and entered into QAD * Communicating any supply issues to the Senior planner * Entering Shipment details for EU suppliers who are not DDP onto Portal (Shipping Clerk activities) * Commodity Code checks * Ordering of direct and indirect materials * Managing call off system in order to ensure stock is available for production in a timely manner * Maintain inventory stock at optimum levels * Cover for planner during periods of absence * To ensure that all Health and Safety standards are maintained and that you show due diligence at all times. * To comply with all company policies and procedures e.g. health & safety, training & development, quality, disciplinary & grievance and sickness & absence etc Skills and experience: * Experience of planning in a FMCG / Fast paced manufacturing environment * Previous experience having used planning systems – MPS & MRP * Experienced in ordering materials with suppliers * Experience of an ERP is a necessity * Must have strong initiative and enthusiasm * Excellent customer focus required * Must be an excellent team player with good interpersonal skills able to communicate at all levels * Must have excellent computer skills with experience in Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word. Experience of email is essential
