Key Responsibilities of a Packing Operative:
- Pack parts as per customer requirements to ensure compliance with packing specifications, prepare paperwork
- Ensuring accurate labelling and documentation for despatch
- Updating records and inputting data using Excel and ERP systems
- Identifying and reporting any issues with packing or quality control
- Performing manual stock checks (counting and recording stock levels)
- Stock control, including F.I.F.O and stock rotation
- General operative duties within a precision engineering environment
Requirements for the Packing Operative Role:
- Previous experience in despatch, packing, or stores within manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environments
- Strong computer literacy – able to use Excel and ERP systems confidently
- Keen eye for detail and the ability to spot and report potential issues
