The predicted salary is between 40000 - 46000 £ per year.

To maintain, develop and implement the hygiene regime ensuring compliance to procedures and food safety standards. To supervise the team of hygiene operators across a 4-shift spectrum. The role will be permanent days Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with a requirement to work 1 day every 2 weeks 12pm to 8pm to manage and offer support to the night shift.

Key Areas of Accountabilities

  • Managing, training and supporting a team of hygiene supervisors and operatives with flexibility to support the various shift patterns and any occasional night shifts to facilitate deep clean and hygiene improvement plans.
  • Driving and implementing significant change and improvement in cleaning efficiency and effectiveness, to the highest standards.
  • Coordinating the hygiene strategy across the site with regards to people development, engagement and cost control.
  • Management and achievement of KPIs across the site.
  • Employing effective root cause analysis to drive SMART actions, leading to improved overall results to improve hygiene standards.
  • Drive the planning and co-ordination of the daily and routine hygiene cleans & deep clean cycles.
  • Lead production, planning and engineering to ensure that cleans are carried out to a good standard without affecting production downtime.
  • Investigating and putting corrective actions in place in reaction to micro or allergen out of spec results from technical.
  • Populate and maintain CICs, SDS and procedures.
  • Ensure that training is carried out.
  • GMP & Hygiene Inspection Audits with Technical and Ops.
  • Carry out verification swabbing and cleaning validations.
  • Represent the Hygiene function during customer visits / audits.
  • To comply with and assist with implementation of company food safety, quality, and legality policies as they relate to the role.
  • Ensure teams performance is managed to deliver results.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Improved / sustained GMP/Hygiene audit scores.
  • Positive customer feedback from audits & visits.
  • To achieve minimum BRCGS Grade A and maintain.
  • Engaged team who are trained and conversant with C.I.C methodologies.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • To make one self-aware of and comply with all guidance contained within the company handbook.
  • Reporting of accidents and near misses.
  • Safe use of factory equipment and compliance with company’s safe working instruction.

The person profile

Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills, this is a role for an experienced hygiene professional with an active hands-on approach and “can-do” attitude. This role involves the coaching and training of the hygiene team but also setting and improving the hygiene standards. Solution minded, with professional integrity and a can-do attitude. This is a customer facing role for audit compliance so the ideal person will be confident in this role.

Skills and Experience – Essential

  • Experience within the hygiene function in the Food Manufacturing industry.
  • A good communicator with well-developed influencing skills.
  • Able to demonstrate a strong moral compass within their day-to-day dealings within a business environment.
  • Computer literate ideally in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or other ERP systems.
  • Creative problem solving abilities.
  • Flexible to meet the demands of the business and the role.

Skills and Experience – Desirable

  • Trained to Level 3 in Food Safety & HACCP (Training Courses to be arranged).
  • Chemical awareness training (Training Courses to be arranged).

Remuneration

  • Salary £50 - £55K
  • Paid sick and compassionate leave
