We are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health Lead to deliver and lead an Occupational Health Service within a manufacturing environment, including our office locations. This role combines clinical expertise with managerial responsibilities, including but not limited to Team Leadership, strategic planning, and service development to enhance the current service provision.
What you will be doing:
- Identify business needs, external trends and analyse data to develop the Group OH strategy, support the development and provide input into our Enriching Life Plan.
- Oversee the day-to-day of the occupational health service, ensuring high standards of service and compliance.
- Develop and implement occupational health policies, procedures, and service improvement plans.
- Set and continuously improve and automate the processes, standards, SLAs and KPIs and data for OH to ensure optimum outcomes for our colleagues keeping abreast of external best practice and trends.
- Manage a team of OH Advisors to provide high quality, consistent, efficient and outcome focused services to all sites with continually developing the team and their capability.
- Set the standards for occupational health service across the sites through a robust audit process to ensure compliance including, medical records are updated and maintained, and policies are being adhered to.
- Assist in the development and cascade of health promotion campaigns in line with business requirements.
- Manage health surveillance and screening for a number of Premier Food sites including pre-employment (fitness for work assessments) and for routine health screens, (on return to work after absence – where applicable) and involvement in any Works Accidents.
- Provide medical advice regarding employees’ capability and fitness to perform their job role through the management referral process. Assisting with long-term absence cases or complex absence cases.
- Be available to provide consultation and treatment if required on site for minor illnesses and injuries at work without requiring an appointment.
- Provide a referral service for employees to seek advice from physiotherapist and counsellor where required.
- Work in partnership with the line managers to ensure smooth transition for colleagues returning to the workplace after a period of absence.
What we need from you:
- Registered General Nurse and with a recognised qualification in OH (Diploma or Degree).
- At least 3 years experience in providing Occupational Health Services in a FMCG environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Have a strong understanding of UK occupational health legislation and best practices.
- Clinical competence (diagnosis, treatment and first aid).
- Have an understanding of data analysing and trend identification.
- Proficient in report writing of occupational health reports.
