Estimator - Structural Steel

Estimator – Structural Steel Position Based in Either – Glengarnock, East Kilbride, Durham or Scarborough Full-Time, Permanent Position Salary – £50,000 – £75,000 (DOE) Up Front Recruitment is working with a respected structural steel contractor with multiple UK locations. As part of their expansion, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their pre-construction team. This is a full-time role, with flexibility to be based in Glengarnock, East Kilbride, Durham or Scarborough. The successful candidate will have a solid background in pricing structural steelwork packages. Key Responsibilities * Prepare accurate estimates for structural steel projects from initial enquiry to submission. * Review technical drawings and specifications to assess project requirements. * Liaise with internal departments, engineers and clients to clarify scope and expectations. * Produce detailed pricing schedules, tender documentation and supporting analysis. * Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and sub-contractors. * Identify commercial risks and opportunities during the bid process. What We’re Looking For * Proven experience as an Estimator within structural steel or steel fabrication. * Strong technical understanding of drawings, steelwork quantities and specifications. * Commercially astute with a good knowledge of market rates and contract structures. * Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.
