DEBRA, the butterfly skin charity, is seeking a dedicated Assistant Shop Manager to join our team in Dorking. This is a permanent, part-time position where you will play a vital role in the successful operation of our shop, helping us to raise essential funds and awareness.

What you’ll be doing:

This is a hands-on role with varied responsibilities. You will be supporting the Shop Manager in the daily management of the shop, including:

  • Sorting, pricing, and displaying donated items, including clothing, books, and homeware.
  • Creating attractive window and in-store displays to maximise sales.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and fostering a welcoming shopping environment.
  • Maintaining shop floor standards and ensuring a clean and organised environment.
  • Managing stock levels, which involves physical handling and movement of goods.
  • Recruiting, training, and supporting our valued team of volunteers.
  • Handling financial transactions and ensuring the security of the premises.

About You:

You possess strong teamwork and communication skills. You are organised, proactive, and able to use your initiative. You are comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including stock handling. You are passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
