The predicted salary is between 24000 - 33600 Β£ per year.
The main purpose of this role is to safely, effectively and efficiently unload materials from delivery wagons, transport it to the relevant location for safe storage as well as safely and efficiently deliver materials to production lines.
Main responsibilities:
- Contribute to the upkeep of required housekeeping standards across all areas of the site, including the sweeping and gritting of the roadways as necessary.
- Manual handling.
- Forklift operation.
- Banks man duties.
- Safely, effectively and efficiently loading and unloading doors, IBCs, scrap pallets, bearers, etc.
- Repairing pallets in order that they can be reused on site.
- Checking and refilling spill kits across site to ensure that they are available for use in an emergency.
- Emptying skips and bins into the relevant waste areas.
- Replacing skips.
- Operating compactor.
- Bailing plastic for recycling.
- Pumping oil and/or wastewater from bund area as necessary.
- Dealing with all waste products safely and in the correct manner.
- Conduct stock counts on pallets as instructed.
- Deliver pallets to production areas as required.
- Delivering goods-in throughout the facility.
- Assist with the movement of materials between buildings as required.
- Unloading vehicles.
- Running materials into building.
- Running materials down to R3.
- Putting away stock into racking using bendi trucks.
- Picking stock out of racking full packs.
- Picking stock manually from A locations. This can be any number from 1 to 200. This is a manual process which involves physical work, bending and sliding materials.
- Reverse of the above, placing stock into A locations.
- Stripping packs down, flipping packs.
- Racking inspections.
- Housekeeping β sweeping, emptying skips which is a pull down motion when skips are on the forks.
- Running materials down from MA3 to R3/lines.
- Picking small amounts β bending and sliding.
- Placing packs on lines.
- Picking packs from racking either MA3 or canter lever racking at R3.
Qualifications & experience:
- A counterbalance forklift truck licence and/or VNA licence is essential.
- Experience of operating in a busy manufacturing environment.
- An excellent timekeeper.
- Trustworthy, open, honest and constructive.
- Flexible in your approach to duties and tasks; able to adapt to both current and future business needs.
- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.
