Aerospace Quality Engineers are sought to work on behalf of our industry-leading client, specialising in providing engineering solutions to various sectors. This contract will be based in Fareham for 12+ months to start ASAP, highly likely to be extended. Candidates must have an aerospace background and experience within a manufacturing environment.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Completion of FAIR Overcheck Inspections in accordance with quality right first-time expectations.
- Completion of FAIR Overcheck Inspections in support of timing plans.
- Productivity and cost reduction improvements.
- Timely supply of product to our customers.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Experience:
- Qualified Manufacturing / Quality Engineer.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality management systems (AS9100 Revision D).
- Knowledge of FAIR Presentation and AS9102 requirements.
- Knowledge of compiling a FAIR, raising balloon drawings, use of Visual FAIR and overcheck requirements.
- Knowledge of customer approvals and specifications (most notably Airbus and GKN Rolls Royce).
- CAP (National Aerospace and Defence Contractors Accreditation Program).
- Knowledge of the special processes used in the manufacture of aerospace and systems detailed parts (e.g. NDT, chemical processing, welding, heat treatment etc.) and the NAD.
- Familiar with batch / route card system, Mill cert information (composition / Temper, and Machining etc).
- Strong interpersonal skills / influencing and team skills.
- Knowledge of quality management tools and methodologies (i.e. APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, 8D, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Control Plans, Capability Studies, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Configuration Management, Risk Management, Total Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Poke Yoke, etc.).
- Good project management skills.
- Knowledge of problem analysis methodologies (i.e. 8D, Ishikawa, 5-why, DoE, DMAIC, etc.) and decision-making skills.
- Excellent IT Skills.
HOURS: 37 hours per week.
Mon - Thursday: 8am - 4.45pm
Friday: 8am - 12pm
O/T - T 1/4 After 37 hours Mon- Fri
T 1/2 on Saturday
D/T on Sunday
LTD £28 - UMB £27 - PAYE - £23
Expected hours: 37.5 - 45 per week.
