My client, a well-established food manufacturing company with a history spanning over 100 years, is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate their on-site engineering function at their site in Oldham. Supplying trusted products across the UK, this business prides itself on quality, consistency, and innovation.

The Role:

As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of 12 multi-skilled maintenance engineers, ensuring the smooth running of all engineering operations across the site. You'll lead on planning and scheduling maintenance activities, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and developing a team of 12 engineers, providing hands-on support and clear direction
  • Overseeing all maintenance activities (both PPM and reactive)
  • Managing budgets, spare parts, and engineering stock
  • Ensuring all machinery and equipment is running safely, reliably, and efficiently
  • Supporting CAPEX projects and contributing to strategic engineering initiatives
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
