My client, a leading Engineering company based in Wokingham, are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Support Technician on a full-time, permanent basis. The Support Technician position is responsible for carrying out support functions such as machining, coating, blank modification, pre-op, finished parts, and honing. Ideally, candidates will have some exposure to machining (Manual or CNC) and be open to training provided by the company. Alternatively, you may have completed an Engineering college course and be looking for your first role within the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Set and operate manual machines; mills, lathes, grinding machines and, in time, operate CNC machinery.
- Carry out wheel dressing, measuring and balancing.
- Set and operate EDM machine.
- Set and operate edge hone machine.
- Support functions such as finished parts, palleting up & regrind booking in and Hardcoating.
- Booking in, incoming work and materials.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed.
- Troubleshooting & reporting machinery problems.
Skills / Qualities:
- An understanding of engineering drawings.
- An understanding of the maintenance and manufacturing environment.
- A positive and solution-driven approach effectively resolves problems.
- Ability to operate independently using own initiative as well as collaboratively in a positive team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional manner and attitude.
- Flexible and adapts to meet the challenges of the business. Willingly takes on tasks as required.

Hours of work are 08.00 - 16.00 Monday to Friday covering 37.5 hours per week. A starting salary of £25,064 per annum (£12.85 per hour) is on offer for the successful candidate. In return, my client can offer excellent training and career progression.
