Overview: My client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS) for a 6-12 month contract based in the West Midlands. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in industrial interior fit-outs and construction projects across creative and high-footfall environments. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced, design-led organisation with an impressive client portfolio across exhibitions, attractions, theme parks, and shopping centres.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all QS duties across the full project lifecycle from initial costing to final accounts
- Support tendering processes and contractor selection
- Lead procurement and manage sub-contractor accounts
- Provide detailed cost planning, budgeting, and value engineering
- Monitor project progress against budget and advise on cost risks
- Prepare accurate valuations and oversee change control processes
- Work closely with project managers, designers, and site teams to ensure commercial alignment
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, legal and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on industrial interior fit-out projects
- Strong track record in construction project delivery, ideally within exhibitions, themed attractions, retail fit-outs, or leisure venues
- In-depth knowledge of contract management, cost planning, and procurement
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving, design-focused environment
- Strong stakeholder communication and commercial negotiation skills
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- RICS accreditation is desirable but not essential
