About the Company - Our client, a leader in distributed energy storage, is seeking a Director in Mechanical Systems Engineering to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the physical systems that are onboard the energy storage systems.
About the Role - Design and develop integrated EV and power electronic cooling and heating systems. Support the creation of RFQ/RFI documents & support supplier engagement. Lead the generation and maintenance of system and component level DFMEAs. Lead the development/management of DVP&R schedule. Choose and specify materials and components required, create detailed CAD drawings. Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, support system production. Work with suppliers to mature cost, manufacturability, and quality of engineering design.
Qualifications - MEng degree in mechanical, electrical or automotive engineering.
Responsibilities:

Required Skills:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in automotive/aerospace etc and with electric vehicles/batteries/electric motors.
- Excellent SolidWorks skills.
- Experience with electrical and mechanical EV components, including CAN protocol.
- Previous demonstrable hands on practical experience.
- Proficiency in simulation tool, analysing test data and correlating to CAE results.
- Ability to work proactively with minimal support using a logical approach in an environment with minimal documented processes.
- Excellent knowledge of GD&T, drawing and assembly document creation.
