A leading supplier of oriental foods in the UK is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Executive who will be able to quickly learn about the specialist food products to be able to advise and sell to customers such as Asian food retailers, wholesalers, and restaurants. The ideal candidate should have experience in sales and/or customer service.

Work type: Hybrid working available

Type: Full time, permanent

Salary: £36-42k depending on experience

Location: Southwest London

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:30 (Have to go to the office on Monday, you can go to client office from your home on the other days)

Sales Executive Main Responsibilities:

  • Sell and promote their products and services to customers in line with agreed sales targets
  • Increasing sales to existing customers by developing long-lasting relationships through effective communication, trust, and integrity
  • Develop new business by attracting new customers and promoting their products
  • Regular account maintenance to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Create and manage special price and product lists for customers
  • Enter customer orders in a timely and accurate manner
  • Handle customer enquiries and coordinate with internal departments as needed
  • Communicate clearly with other departments to make sure that customer requirements are met
  • Work closely with Logistics to ensure smooth delivery and high standard of customer service
  • Handle returns, complaints and other claims from customers, and coordinate with the necessary department(s) to resolve problems
  • Work with Accounts to resolve questions about customer credit limits or payments
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and enthusiasm for their business and products in order to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintain all aspects of administration to a high standard and be committed to achieving tight customer SLAs
  • Ensure adherence to relevant legislation as well as company procedures and standards

Sales Executive Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in sales and/or customer service
  • Experience in wholesale trade (preferable)
  • Knowledge of Japanese/Asian/ethnic foods (preferable)
  • PC skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Pegasus Opera 3 financial software (training to be provided as needed)
  • Customer focused individual and dynamic personality
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Able to respond quickly to operational demands
  • Foreign language skills will be helpful but not essential, especially Japanese, Chinese, Korean
