This is a fantastic opportunity to join our hard-working and friendly Development & House Building Team based in Reading. We are looking for a Senior Associate Property Development Solicitor with 5+ year PQE to support the partners on transactional matters and manage their own caseload autonomously, with support available where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting option agreements, deeds, and contracts.
  • Undertaking due diligence and providing detailed reporting.
  • Managing a caseload of development transactions, including acquisitions and disposals of development land, plot sales, planning, and construction matters.
  • Handling secured acquisition and development finance transactions.
  • Contributing to processes and documents required for plot sales.
  • Identifying concerns and risks, and providing practical and commercial solutions.
  • Communicating effectively with team members, clients, and third parties involved in transactions.
  • Gaining an understanding of the planning system and its impact on development transactions.
  • Participating in business development activities and cultivating relationships within the development community.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Relevant development experience is essential.
  • A proven track record of working autonomously on complex transactions, with partner assistance available as required.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with clients and referrers in the development sector.
  • Strong drafting skills, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organised and detail-oriented with an ability to approach complex problems methodically.
  • Practical and commercial thinking, with resourcefulness and a strong work ethic.
  • A willingness to engage in marketing and business development activities.

Flexible working is available; however, regular attendance at our Reading office (at least twice a week) is expected.
