The Assistant Garment Technologist supports the technical development and industrialisation of womenswear garments, ensuring quality, fit, and construction align with brand standards. This role provides essential administrative and technical support to the team, maintaining accurate records and assisting in the smooth progression from pre-production sample to production.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Assist in garment fittings, measuring, and quality checks under supervision.
  • Maintain and update measurement charts, fit notes, and technical specifications.
  • Support the tracking and organisation of SMS (showman samples), pre-production, and production samples.
  • Help prepare for fit sessions, taking notes and assisting with garment reference materials.
  • Communicate basic technical updates to suppliers and internal teams, escalating complex issues when needed.
  • Assist in ensuring garment construction aligns with industrial production standards.

Key Actions:

  • Organise and maintain fit and technical documentation in Excel and PLM systems.
  • Prepare samples for fit sessions, taking detailed notes and recording key adjustments.
  • Monitor and update tech packs to reflect changes from development through production.
  • Support supplier coordination by ensuring clear, accurate technical communication.
  • Assist in maintaining garment consistency through accurate grading and measurement checks.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

  • Fashion-related degree or relevant technical certification.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in a similar role within garment technology, preferably in womenswear.

Hard Skills/Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of garment construction, fit, and grading principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and PLM systems.
  • Familiarity with Lectra or similar CAD software is a plus.
