A well-established special purpose machine manufacturer based about 12 miles North of Manchester is seeking a Controls Team Leader. The successful candidate will be electrically qualified and possess some experience in leading or managing people.

Key aspects of the Controls Team Leader role include:

  • Managing a small team comprising an Electrical CAD Engineer and two Control Engineers.
  • Mentoring, leading, and supporting the team to enhance performance.
  • A background in commissioning control systems and good project skills, such as scheduling, managing resources, and stakeholder management, would be beneficial.
  • Overseeing the design and development work of the team by checking and approving drawings.
  • Guiding the team on producing designs, installation, and test documentation.
  • Providing a technical interface between customers and suppliers.
  • 90% of the role will be office/shop floor based, with approximately 10% (around 4-5 weeks per year) spent on customer sites globally, typically for one week at a time.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics is extremely useful.
  • Supporting the team with testing and troubleshooting on the shop floor.
  • Training budget available.
  • Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Thursday 8:15-16:30 and Friday 8:15-15:15.

This position is commutable from North Manchester, Heywood, Bolton, Rochdale, Oldham, Bury, Todmorden, Rawtenstall, Prestwich, and Ashton-under-Lyne. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
