Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer

Job Title: Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (Mobile – North East Region) Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + Overtime + Call-Out + Van + Benefits Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (Call-Out Rota Required) A leading commercial maintenance provider is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to join their mobile engineering team covering Newcastle upon Tyne and the wider North East region. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled AC/Refrigeration Engineer to work across a variety of commercial sites including offices, retail, healthcare, and education settings. The role includes planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault-finding and small-scale installations across a wide range of HVAC systems. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out servicing, repairs, and fault-finding on split systems, VRV/VRF systems, refrigeration units, and AHUs * Provide emergency reactive support to critical HVAC assets * Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions * Complete planned maintenance schedules and service reports * Participate in a standby/call-out rota (typically 1 in 5 or 1 in 6) * Ensure compliance with F-Gas, H&S regulations, and company procedures * Liaise professionally with clients and support coordinators Requirements: * NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent) * F-Gas 2079 certification (essential) * Proven experience in a similar mobile engineering role within commercial buildings * Strong fault-finding skills and knowledge of commercial HVAC/refrigeration systems * Full UK driving licence (essential) * Excellent communication and organisational skills Package Includes: * Basic Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience) * Paid overtime and call-out allowances * Company van (fully expensed) * 25 days annual leave + bank holidays * Pension scheme * Tools, uniform, PDA, and fuel card provided Apply on-line today or contact Astrid Camacho at Branta recruitment for more information
