If you have experience working within the charity and mental health care sector and you are an experienced team leader, come and join us as a Deputy Manager! We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join our Coastal Housing team in Saxmundham, Suffolk on a full-time permanent basis.

About the role: As the Deputy Manager you will support the Coastal Housing Manager and deliver housing services for individuals with complex mental health needs. Your responsibilities will include managing a staff team and providing on-call support as needed on a rota basis. In this role, you will be site-based and working 37 hours per week and sleep-in shifts are to be discussed at a later stage.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and supervise staff and volunteers, ensuring they meet reasonable objectives aligned with organisational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Coastal Housing Manager to identify innovative service delivery methods, ensuring needs are met through multi-agency assessments.
  • Assist in daily housing tasks including rent collection and maintenance reporting.
  • Provide a safe environment for service users, offering emotional support during challenging times.
  • Conduct regular supervision for staff to encourage personal development and optimal performance.

About you: You will have at least 2 years’ experience of team management and working with service users facing mental health challenges. It is essential you have experience of managing supported housing services in a mental health setting. A strong knowledge of legislation and practices to uphold standards in mental health care. You will have a thorough understanding of mental health services as well as a good knowledge of the charity ‘care’ sector. Any experience around alcohol and drugs would also be beneficial for this role. You should have excellent communication skills that enable you to positively manage conflict and understand boundaries. Additionally, you have strong organisational skills and can manage multiple priorities effectively.
