Job Title: Head of Income Collection – Revenues, Benefits & Transactional Centre Location: Redbridge Rate: £32.15 per hour Contract Type: Temporary ongoing Hours: Full time, 36 hours per week, some evening work might be required Join Us to Lead Change and Drive Excellence in Income Collection We are looking for an exceptional leader to join our Revenues, Benefits & Transactional Centre as the Head of Income Collection, with strategic oversight of Sundry Debt, Adult Social Care billing, and collection and recovery services. This is a key role at the heart of client’s financial operations, responsible for ensuring that income due to the authority is billed, collected, and recovered effectively and ethically. You’ll lead a multi-functional team delivering high-quality income services that support both the financial stability of the council and the wellbeing of our residents and service users. Key Responsibilities: * Provide strategic leadership for the end-to-end billing, collection, and recovery of Sundry Debt and Adult Social Care charges. * Oversee all income collection operations within the Revenues, Benefits & Transactional Centre, ensuring high performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction. * Develop and deliver innovative approaches to maximise collection rates while supporting vulnerable customers. * Ensure robust governance and compliance with legislation including the Care Act 2014, local charging policies, and corporate debt policies. * Lead on performance improvement, service transformation, and digital innovation across income collection functions. * Produce insightful reporting and forecasting to support senior leadership and financial planning. * Build strong cross-departmental relationships with Finance, Legal, Social Care, Commissioning and external partners. What Client Is Looking For: * Substantial experience in income collection and recovery, ideally within a local authority or similar public sector environment. * Strong understanding of Sundry Debt processes and Adult Social Care financial operations, including charging, assessments, and deferred payments. * Proven ability to lead large, operationally complex teams through change and transformation. * Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. * Demonstrated commitment to delivering equitable, person-centred services while achieving financial goals.
