We are looking for a passionate and visionary podiatrist to join our family! Soleus Podiatry is a modern and forward-thinking clinic in the beautiful town of Ilminster, South Somerset. A podiatry presence was established here 18 years ago, growing into a self-contained 4-room facility with our strong Soleus brand in January 2021.

We currently have 3 podiatrists, and a part-time MSK/Sports Podiatrist, with a fabulous support team. Our vision is to build the best podiatry clinic in the South West, which delivers pioneering and proven treatment modalities to make a meaningful impact, and enables us to fulfil our mission to help our community live happy and active lives. We are working to be an inspirational clinic, and become a hub for student placements and apprentices who will benefit from our wealth of experience.

We are looking for a full-time (preferred) team member who will have a good understanding and competence of current best practice in all general areas of podiatry care, to include nail surgery, swift, biomechanics, orthoses prescription and exercise rehabilitation. We also undertake nail reconstruction and bracing, training for which will be provided if not already experienced.

Your role will be to help the clinic grow into its next phase and transition caseload from the owner. You will also be comfortable engaging in our marketing activities such as social media, occasionally taking part in community events and spreading the word about our amazing profession. You will be enthusiastic about imparting our wisdom to the next generation of podiatrists - a vitally important process.

We value our practitioners by dedicating time to listen to concerns, involving team members in decision making, nurturing a low-stress environment, encouraging furtherance of skills and confidence, providing lots of CPD to support career pathway, and mentoring their journey as part of our team.

Work/life balance is extremely important to us. That is why we found balance in working our 36 hours over 4.5 days, but within that we can be flexible regarding working pattern. One of our priorities is making sure the team reach their potential to be autonomous masters. We strike the right balance of challenge and support to facilitate growth, making sure to notice and recognise good work and teamwork.

Our Values:

  • Patient-Centred: We prioritise providing personalised, compassionate care that puts our patients' well-being first.
  • Authenticity: Honesty and transparency are at the core of everything we do.
  • Excellence: We are committed to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Fun: We balance a positive and fun environment with the pleasure of making a real difference in people's lives.

Benefits:

  • Choose your hours to suit - we currently operate on a 4.5-day week.
  • Be part of a great team with an excellent reputation.
  • Get involved in local events and marketing activities.
  • Brand new, fresh, clean facilities, with 2 GP practices next door.
  • Onsite free parking, close to town amenities.
  • Fantastic support from our admin team.
  • Branded uniform and onsite laundry.
  • Option of early start/later finish/weekends if desired.
  • 6 weeks annual leave.
  • Team socials.
  • Weekly one-to-ones and regular team meetings.
  • Wellness support with Health Assured.
  • CPD provision.
  • Contributing to team decision making.
  • Constant reinvestment in new equipment and skills.

Desired qualities:

  • Beginner mindset and willing to learn and grow.
  • Working closely as a team and respecting each other.
  • Being prompt and tidy.
  • Being polite, friendly, approachable and empathetic.
  • Taking responsibility for own actions.
  • Being confident and motivating.

Our current work pattern is 9.30-6.30 Mon, 8.30-5.30 T/W/T, 8.30 -12.30 Fri, but as we have sole occupancy of our clinic we can do what we like!
