Our client, a leading innovator, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their high-performing team. Monday to Friday (every second Friday is a non-working day) and up to two days' work from home.
What you’ll be doing:
- Creating and updating 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings in SolidWorks
- Managing product designs from concept to delivery following BS8888 standards
- Performing simulation-based analysis such as FEA, thermal, and vibration studies
- Writing technical documentation, manuals, test procedures, and more
- Leading design projects while working closely with a cross-functional engineering team
- Supporting prototype build, assembly, and testing
- Visiting clients or suppliers as required – a full UK driving licence is essential
What we’re looking for:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (2:1 or above preferred) or equivalent experience
- Strong background in detailed product design and complex mechanisms
- Experience in DFM, DFA, and knowledge of manufacturing methods including machining, castings, and mouldings
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and design in high-reliability or defence sectors is a bonus
- Highly motivated, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Confident communicator with leadership potential and a positive, team-first attitude
