Our client, a leading innovator, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their high-performing team. Monday to Friday (every second Friday is a non-working day) and up to two days' work from home.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Creating and updating 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings in SolidWorks
  • Managing product designs from concept to delivery following BS8888 standards
  • Performing simulation-based analysis such as FEA, thermal, and vibration studies
  • Writing technical documentation, manuals, test procedures, and more
  • Leading design projects while working closely with a cross-functional engineering team
  • Supporting prototype build, assembly, and testing
  • Visiting clients or suppliers as required – a full UK driving licence is essential

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (2:1 or above preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in detailed product design and complex mechanisms
  • Experience in DFM, DFA, and knowledge of manufacturing methods including machining, castings, and mouldings
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and design in high-reliability or defence sectors is a bonus
  • Highly motivated, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Confident communicator with leadership potential and a positive, team-first attitude

Important: Due to the sensitive nature of this work, all applicants must be eligible to obtain SC level security clearance.
