Streamline Recruitment are working with a well-established logistics business who are looking to appoint an Import/Export Road Operations Manager at their site in Thurrock. This is a hands-on role, leading a small team with a focus on improving operational efficiency, implementing effective processes, and driving profitability — all while ensuring exceptional customer service. You'll also take ownership of compliance across import/export procedures, support ongoing team development, and play a key role in the next phase of operational growth.
The Role:
- Oversee the day-to-day running of road freight operations, import & export.
- Manage and develop a small team, including appraisals, reviews, and disciplinaries.
- Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, H&S, and ISO standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements across the operation.
- Collaborate closely with warehousing and contract logistics teams.
- Attend client meetings and contribute to business reviews and wider strategy.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a freight or European transport management role.
- Strong understanding of import/export operations and procedures.
- Confident team leader with a track record of supporting development and driving change.
Hours: Monday to Friday – 45 hours per week
