We underwrite for close to 30 top-rated insurers and syndicates alongside our own Lloyd’s Syndicate 1609—offering worldwide access, coupled with local insights, across seven lines of business from seven regions.
Mosaic is looking for an underwriter to join our professional liability team in London to focus on SML/SAM/misconduct liability portfolio, initially with an opportunity to develop into the international and US professional indemnity markets more broadly. This is a rare opportunity to take a meaningful role in a market-leading team and further develop your career.
Responsibilities- Underwrite SML/SAM/misconduct liability product within a binder portfolio and on an open-market basis
- Develop into an international and US professional liability underwriter with a focus across a broad range of sectors and territories
- Analyze risk, set pricing and undertake policy review
- Negotiate with brokers on new and renewal business
- Assess delegated authority business, including initial underwriting acceptance and monitoring
- Assist in helping set division’s strategy, including engagement in business-planning process
- Business development, including identifying new distribution, products and relationships
- Build and manage relationships domestically and internationally, including brokers and coverholders
- Represent Mosaic in client meetings
- Ideally five or more years’ experience in a combination of relevant roles, to include SML/SAM
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to collaboratively work with others
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Highly focused, enthusiastic and creative thinker
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to negotiate with sophisticated advisors and clients
- Ability to be proactive, work independently and make decisions
- General knowledge of and ability to comprehend financial statements
- Competency in legal drafting
