🚨 We're Hiring | Mechanical Design Engineer (CFD Specialist)

📍 Ilkeston, Derbyshire | Hybrid (4 days office, 1 day WFH)

💸 £50,000–£60,000 + 25 days holiday + 6% matched pension

With 65+ years of innovation, they deliver bespoke, environmentally-conscious solutions across energy, utility, and industrial sectors.

We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong CFD analysis skills to join their expert team.

🛠️ In this role, you’ll:

  • Deliver high-quality CFD analysis across custom engineering projects
  • Support mechanical design through concept to final detailing
  • Optimise performance, reduce noise, and improve system efficiency
  • Be a technical lead on CFD queries, supporting cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to ensure technical compliance

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with CFD tools (e.g. ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL)
  • Knowledge of gas dispersion
  • Strong mechanical design and analysis background
  • Experience with engineering software (Excel, Mathcad, etc.)

🎯 Desirable: Knowledge of ATEX, Machinery Directive, or risk analysis methods. Bonus if you're professionally registered (e.g., IMechE).

📅 Hours: Monday–Friday, 37.5/week
