The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.
This is a mid-level management position, who is both an operational housekeeper when required, and a member of the management team who will stand in for the Housekeeping Manager in their absence. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the housekeeping department. As Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of our resort. Working under the guidance of both the Housekeeping and Operations Manager, you will be a pro-active and highly organised service professional.
The housekeeping Assistant Manager is responsible for, but not limited to:
- As a fully operational housekeeper when required, you will work closely with the Housekeeping Manager to help engage, train, lead and inspire the housekeeping team.
- Deputise for the Housekeeping Manager when needed to ensure consistency of service.
- Under the instruction and working with the Housekeeping Manager, you will ensure all staff are fully compliant in all Health & Safety training, policies and procedures.
- When required, you will attend daily operational meetings to work inter-departmentally to ensure an optimal service for our guests.
- Working with the Housekeeping Manager, you will be the first line of support for the Housekeeping Supervisor and Housekeepers and take responsibility for managing and resolving any team member queries.
- You will support the Housekeeping Manager to evaluate performance of all team members, including conducting regular team member appraisals in the Housekeeping Managers absence.
- Working with the People Manager, you will highlight any relevant concerns relating to staff welfare, performance or allegations of misconduct.
- Working with the Housekeeping Manager, you will assist in the delegation and allocation of tasks to team members.
- Develop, implement, improve and review housekeeping policies and SOPs, and highlight any areas of concern.
- Working with the Housekeeping and Operations Manager, you will assist in managing and devising rotas and ensure that adequate cover is in place in line with projected occupancies of the business.
- Liaise with external agencies, working with occupancy rates to ensure you remain in budget whilst not compromising on quality.
- Ensuring agency work is up to our high standards, and liaising with agencies if improvements need made by giving regular and timely feedback.
- Take responsibility for any on site company assets and ensure that they are maintained in good condition and serviced as required.
- Ensure regular key audits are completed.
- Assist with the management of lost property.
- Promote and be a role model for a culture where all wastage is kept to a minimum.
- Working with the Housekeeping Manager, you will ensure that all hours of work are properly recorded and submitted to the company for the timely payment of team member wages and support in accurate record keeping.
- Ensure regular audits of inventories of properties and housekeeping supplies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Conduct regular stock level checks and order replenishment where necessary, whilst still adhering to budgetary guidelines.
