Our investment banking client is looking to hire a highly motivated Assistant Company Secretary / Corporate Paralegal to join our EMEA Corporate Legal team, the role will be based in the London office. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support to our corporate operations. A minimum of 2 years prior relevant company secretarial / legal experience in the financial services sector, either in house or in a law firm, is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Company Secretarial Office with the preparation of Board and Committees meetings.
- Provide company secretarial services to EMEA regulated corporate entities together with their branches.
- Assist in drafting and maintaining corporate governance materials.
- Support legal and regulatory submissions and commercial register applications/filings.
- Deal with due diligence requests and general queries in relation to our clients EMEA entity information.
- Liaise with external legal counsel, regulatory authorities, auditors as necessary.
- Conduct legal research and analysis.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and communicate their potential impact.
- Subject to successful candidate qualifications and experience, providing support in relation to commercial contracts, privacy and strategic projects.
Person Specification:
- Law degree (LLB), or equivalent legal professional qualification, together with Legal Practice Course or SQE.
- Company secretarial and paralegal experience in the financial services sector.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
This is a cross-jurisdictional role for a self-motivated individual with strong work ethics who can work independently and within a team environment. Ideally the successful candidate will have familiarity with the investment banking industry and experience working in an international environment.
