As the IT Infrastructure Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure and systems, including but not limited to Windows Servers, Active Directory, Entra, Networks, and Firewalls.

You will support the infrastructure architecture providing technical expertise, applying design principles and methodologies to ensure cost-effective and optimal use of resources and technology. You will evaluate and design solutions as required for business and customer requirements and help develop the strategic direction. You will ensure that our infrastructure is implemented securely using guidance from NIST, NCSC, CIS etc. You will ensure all systems are maintained and in support and compliant with our security certifications. You will need to have experience in a similar sized environment circa 1000+ users.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for developing IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets the needs of our business and aligns with the wider business strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for leveraging technology to improve business processes and performance.
  • Provide 3rd line support for all infrastructure related issues, working and managing internal/external resources for quick and timely resolution.
  • Provide technical and design support for the provision of business specific solutions and ensure agreed standards for both service and compliance are adhered to.
  • Responsible for infrastructure availability and support including but not exhaustive: Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, Servers and operating systems, Messaging - Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, Mail Filtering, Telephony and unified comms, Networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN & Firewalls), Anti-Virus - Sophos, Backups - Arcserve, Database - SQL, Printing, File Storage, Directory management, Web filtering - Forcepoint, Service monitoring - PTRG, Office 365, Microsoft Entra, Cloud migrations.
Experience needed
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in similar roles.
  • Experience of working in an SME environment with circa 1000+ users.
  • Experience working with and/or ITIL qualifications.
  • Hold industry relevant qualifications such as MCSE.
  • Outstanding problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
  • Cyber Essentials Plus experience.
  • ISO27001:2022 experience.
  • Windows server cloud migrations.
