Be-IT are working with a Scottish based organization to recruit a Software Developer on a full-time, permanent basis. This role offers hybrid working and will be based in Glasgow, Scotland.

As a Software Developer, you will work closely with technical leads to design, develop and test both proprietary products and bespoke client-driven solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our clients' offerings while promoting best practices and a strong quality focus in our development methodologies. You'll gain exposure to the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) and be encouraged to take ownership of your work while engaging in exciting new projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-4 years + of commercial software development experience.
  • Strong understanding of the full SDLC.
  • In-depth knowledge of Java (preferably Java 11 and above).
  • Proficiency in Spring Boot.
  • Familiarity with Spring Security and Thymeleaf.
  • Experience with JUnit and mock frameworks.
  • Expertise in JDBC, Hibernate, and SQL (Oracle or similar RDBMS).
  • Solid foundation in web development (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3).
  • Hands-on experience with Git.
  • Knowledge of software design patterns.
  • Ability to take initiative and solve problems creatively.
  • A passion for technology, programming, and continuous learning.

While not essential, the following skills will be beneficial (desirable):

  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in CI/CD development.
  • Knowledge of REST API design.
  • Exposure to Spring Boot Microservices architecture.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
