DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager. This role involves working closely with the on-site operational team to develop a deep understanding of key customer needs and ensure the site meets their expectations. By analyzing customer forecasts, the Warehouse Shift Manager will oversee resource planning to maintain seamless operations and deliver exceptional service.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
- Manage a safe operation and role model a Safety First Culture with all individuals in the operation by applying and improving the Safety Standards.
- Implement Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) program as a daily way to confirm behaviours and processes.
- Conduct incident investigations within the workplace and ensure relevant safety regulations and procedures are adhered to.
- Understand Health and Safety related risks in your area, take actions to eliminate or minimise these risks according to an agreed plan.
- Ensure that Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) of operational processes are up to date, available at the relevant place for employees and that employees are working according to the standard established.
- Track your operations performance and understand deviations with your direct reports, supporting them with the necessary resources.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- At least 12 months of experience in a customer-facing role is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of management experience and 3 years in warehouse operations is required.
- Ability to deploy and change resource allocations during the shift in response to the changing requirements.
- Ability to drive Standards within the direct team.
- Successful candidates must undergo a basic Access NI check; a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
