We are seeking to appoint a leader with vision and a passion for learning who will, along with a management team, lead learning across the partnership of Dalry and Kells (New Galloway) Primary Schools. This post offers an exciting and unique opportunity to shape educational provision across the cluster into the future within a dynamic school community which has high aspirations for all.

\\n

\\n

All schools are situated in an area of Dumfries and Galloway known as the Glenkens. The Glenkens is an attractive, lively rural community, comprising New Galloway, St John’s Town of Dalry, Balmaclellan and Carsphairn. The first two villages are three miles apart on either side of the River Ken at the north end of Loch Ken. It is an area with good facilities and strong communities committed to all of the schools. As well as traditional agriculture and forestry, renewable energy, tourism and natural and cultural heritage are all increasingly important local employers. Good housing is very affordable and the area is easy to reach by car from Castle Douglas (20 minutes), Dumfries (40 minutes) and Ayr (50 minutes).

\\n

\\n

In addition, Dalry Primary has a Nursery setting which is managed by a Nursery Manager. An important element of this post is to develop an ethos, culture and values which demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusion and diversity.
