We are currently recruiting for the position of Workshop Foreman to be part of our skilled team who maintain our extensive fleet of trucks and trailers in John Raymond Transport in Bridgend, Wales. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on workshop supervising foreman capable of taking charge as required reporting to the Workshop Manager.
Responsibilities- Ensure all planned and unplanned maintenance events are carried out to the required standards.
- Manage works flows and quality of maintenance & repairs undertaken.
- Hands on approach to maintenance and servicing of trucks and assorted trailers.
- Provide technical advice, guidance and assistance to workshop staff members.
- Provide support regarding legal preparation and presentation of fleet along with vehicle movement.
- Work alongside the Workshop Manager to ensure efficient turnaround times for servicing and maintenance including organising warranty repairs.
- Ensure the availability of vehicles in line with operational requirements.
- Optimise the management of stock and spare parts utilisation.
- Maintain Garage equipment and carry out planned reviews.
- Work alongside company managers, fostering excellent working relationships to aid in the management of all aspects of maintenance and service performance.
- Conduct audits on repairs and inspections carried out by service providers.
- Keep track of all maintenance costs.
- Ensure records are kept up to date recording all maintenance and service work undertaken.
- Operate within agreed KPI parameters.
- Utilise effective people management skills to motivate, guide and develop staff.
- Control of contractors onsite ensuring compliance with safety procedures and site induction if needed.
- Assist with vehicle breakdowns if required.
- Qualified HGV mechanic or equivalent Qualification.
- Category CE driving licence is desirable.
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office and other IT programmes.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- A team player who is happy to assist and mentor other staff members.
