Are you an experienced CNC operator looking for a new challenge? We are currently supporting our client in the search for a CNC Lathe operator on a Permanent basis in Ipswich.

Based at their newest facility near Ipswich train station, you will operate CNC Machinery on a shift basis. You will be involved in carrying out tyre turning events on wagons and wheelsets as well as other tasks to include truck driving, cranes and operating the vehicle.

You will be involved in:

  • Adhering to health and safety and local safety policy requirements and standards
  • Ensuring the engineering standards and procedures are understood, applied and followed
  • Tyre turning on wagons and wheelsets in accordance with approved maintenance plans
  • Ensuring relevant records are completed to company standards through Asset management system and spreadsheets
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and able to identify and reduce hazards
  • Carrying out wheel lathe activities to include operating forklift truck, cranes etc

What they are looking for:

  • Previous experience operating CNC Machinery, ideally Lathes
  • You’ll have previously worked on machining metals or similar materials or wheel sets
  • Preferably you will be apprentice trained or have equivalent qualification or experience in mechanical maintenance practices

The role will be working a 3 shift pattern of earlys, lates and nights (Monday to Friday) with opportunity for overtime. The salary offered is £41,686 plus opportunity to increase with further training and certifications to an additional £3k per year.
