Maintenance Engineer\\nDerby\\n£30,000 – £35,000 \\n\\nJob Overview:\\n\\nWe are seeking a proactive and versatile General Maintenance Operative to join our team in Derby. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the site. This role includes involvement in Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.\\n \\nKey Responsibilities:\\n \\nPerform basic plumbing tasks, such as repairing leaks, unblocking drains, and replacing taps and fixtures.

\\nCarry out basic electrical work, including replacing light bulbs and fuses \\nUndertake general carpentry duties, such as changing door closures, fixing minor structural repairs, and other general maintenance tasks. \\nAssist with basic decorating duties, including painting, and maintaining the appearance of various areas. \\nEnsure that all tasks are completed in line with safety regulations and company policies.

\\nRespond to reactive maintenance requests promptly and efficiently. \\nKeep the work environment tidy and safe at all times, reporting any hazards immediately. \\nWork collaboratively with other team members to ensure maintenance tasks are completed on time.

Key Skills & Qualifications:\\n \\nProven experience in general maintenance or similar roles. \\nBasic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and decorating skills. \\nAbility to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

\\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. \\nGood communication skills, both written and verbal. \\nAbility to work to a high standard and manage time effectively.

\\nMust be reliable, self-motivated, and proactive in carrying out tasks. Desirable:\\n \\nExperience working within an industrial environment. \\nAny additional qualifications in maintenance or specific trade areas (e.g., plumbing, electrical).
