Our client offers fresh British produce with a modern approach and is now recruiting for a Sous Chef to join their team at their restaurant near Byfleet, Surrey. The Sous Chef is a key person who works alongside the Head Chef and is responsible for ensuring that standards are maintained for the kitchen. It is vital to keep food to the best standard possible whilst meeting all Food Safety standards.
As the Sous Chef, your responsibilities will include:
- To maintain consistent quality and quantity control in all aspects, from portion control to freshness of the food presented
- To support the Sous and Head Chef with the ordering of fresh food and management of supplier relationships
- To support with training and development of the team to ensure everyone is utilised to the best of their potential
- To understand and comply with food hygiene regulations and HACCP, as well as COSHH trained.
You will report to the Head and Sous Chef and will work closely together to ensure the kitchen team are thriving and the menu offered reflects the demand and style of the guests.
Experience required:
- Have previous experience in a fresh food restaurant, being creative and led by the produce to create a fresh food menu.
- Are passionate and enthusiastic about the industry and driven to progress
- Have previous experience as a Chef de Partie/Senior Chef de Partie working with fresh food and ingredients
- Have great communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
