Would you like to join a highly motivated Building Safety Team delivering excellence to our residents?, You will be able to work well under pressure and have an eye for detail alongside a passion for resident safety. You will be able to work positively and collaboratively with colleagues, partners, contractors and enforcing authorities adopting an inclusive, respectful approach and you will strongly value diversity.

We are looking for someone with over five years’ relevant construction experience and/or a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent (Evidence of successful completion and agreement of equivalence will be required before appointment) and membership of the he Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or similar fire safety body is desirable.

Location

The role is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, and we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis. The role also involves regular inspections of high rise blocks within the borough of Lewisham.

Special conditions

  • Proven construction experience and/or a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent (Evidence of successful completion and agreement of equivalence will be required before appointment) and membership of the he Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or similar fire safety body is desirable.

  • Some evening work is occasionally required attending resident meetings.

  • Full UK driving licence

  • This role requires a basic DBS check

To ensure London Borough of Lewisham (LBL) complies with all current and emerging building safety regulations and proactively promote and communicate building safety throughout the organisation and with the residents within high rise residential buildings (HRBs).

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
