We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established company specialising in the repair and installation of heating systems within the social housing sector. With a dedicated team of engineers and installers, they are committed to providing high-quality services. They are currently seeking a Returns Co-ordinator to manage and streamline the process of returning unused materials, ensuring efficient stock control and smooth operations.
The Returns Co-ordinator will be responsible for overseeing the collection and return of unused and surplus materials from engineers' vans and project sites. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient stock control, ensuring proper documentation, and obtaining credit notes from suppliers. The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently, often on the road.
- Visit engineers' vans and job sites to collect unused or surplus materials.
- Organise and manage the return of materials to suppliers efficiently.
- Ensure all returned materials are properly documented and credited.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure credit notes are obtained and processed.
- Work closely with engineers, installers, and suppliers to facilitate a smooth returns process.
- Carry out regular van stock audits to ensure accurate inventory.
- Utilise IT systems (including Excel and PDA devices) for tracking and reporting.
- Identify areas to improve the returns process and reduce material wastage.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and suppliers to resolve any discrepancies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction, heating, or trade industry.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with engineers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Proficient in using IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel and PDA devices.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of heating materials and suppliers is advantageous but not essential.
