We’re looking for experienced CNC Studer Grinders to join our motorsport client's expanding workforce as they continue to grow and expand their capacity to produce transmission parts to the company's extremely high-quality standards.
We have the following shifts available:
- Weekends: Friday – Sunday 06:00 – 18:30 with a 30-minute break. 25% Shift allowance premium.
- Nights: Monday – Thursday, 19:00 – 06:00 with a 1-hour unpaid break. 30% Shift allowance premium.
Day to Day Your responsibilities will include:
- Program, set, operate and run both CNC Cylindrical (internal and external) and Manual Surface grinding machines, ideally Studer (CNC) and J&S (manual).
- Carry out programming and editing functions to produce high-quality components to drawing specification and quality.
- Create & save a comprehensive set up procedure document for work undertaken.
- Store and maintain all tooling/gauging linked to the process.
- Liaise with the Manufacturing Support Office to discuss manufacturing issues and label defective parts.
- Carry out self-inspection when required, including the use of CMM and contour trace machines.
- Complete all necessary job cards and associated documentation, pack in appropriate packaging and relocate to the next operation.
- Reliably record setting and production times using the system current at the time.
- To be able and willing to operate additional machines when required.
In this role, you will be working in a machine shop environment.
About You
We’re looking for people with the following skills:
- Expert knowledge of CNC Cylindrical (internal and external) and manual Surface Grinding, ideally Studer.
- Operating, setting and programming of CNC Grinding machines using Fanuc.
- Good knowledge of speeds, feeds and work-holding, including three jaw chucks, magnetic chucks and grinding between centres.
- A comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Ability to self-inspect and buddy check parts to drawing.
- A good working attitude.
