Our client, a well-established FMCG manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join their team at their facility in Essex.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role will involve supporting all operational, commercial and customer service aspects of inbound and outbound logistics through established contracts and continuous improvement initiatives with third-party logistics providers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support leadership of an established team of eight colleagues responsible for order processing, inventory control, import/export administration, and service level reporting
- Assist with operational and commercial performance of all third-party logistics providers
- Support workflow optimisation within the Logistics team to ensure adherence to deadlines
- Manage relationships with major retailers relating to factory gate collections, backhaul and consolidation centre operations
- Monitor service level performance and participate in service reviews with stakeholders
- Oversee stock reporting and cost management with a continuous improvement mindset
- Review and enhance cost management and reporting processes
- Line management responsibilities expected to be introduced within the first year

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 10 years' experience in logistics within an FMCG environment
- Comprehensive understanding of logistics operations, data sources and best practices
- Experience managing customer distribution and 3PL providers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced computer literacy including ERP systems, BI tools, Microsoft Office and WMS systems
- Experience leading performance improvement projects in FMCG logistics
- Previous team leadership experience advantageous
