A well-established and growing accountancy firm is looking to appoint a Client Portfolio Manager to join their team, with the opportunity to be based in Exeter. This is a varied and client-focused role involving the management of a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and planning accounts work for a mixed client portfolio
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff, including budget planning and file reviews
- Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and finalise accounts
- Preparing management accounts and offering insightful commentary
- Handling tax planning (personal and corporate), dividends, and VAT reviews
- Advising clients on tax liabilities and providing ad hoc financial guidance
- Attending client meetings (both in person and online)
- Overseeing deadlines, workflow, and billing across the portfolio
What Our Client is Looking For:
- ACA/ACCA qualified with experience in a similar role within practice
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidently managing client relationships and leading a team
- Familiarity with cloud-based systems like Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage is desirable
- Experience with Digita or CCH is a bonus, not essential
