The organization offers a range of services, including emergency accommodation, affordable housing solutions, and property maintenance. With a focus on supporting homeless individuals, vulnerable families, and local authorities, Haven Rise Shelter ensures that properties are safe, compliant, and well-maintained. Role Overview As a Property Inspection Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety of our housing stock. Your responsibilities will include conducting various property inspections, ensuring compliance with housing standards, and supporting tenants throughout their occupancy. Key Responsibilities * Conduct routine property inspections to assess condition and identify maintenance needs. * Perform new tenancy sign-ins and end-of-tenancy sign-offs. * Carry out risk assessments during inspections to identify potential hazards. * Conduct welfare visits to ensure tenant well-being and identify any support needs. * Manage check-in and check-out procedures in line with housing standards. * Execute occupancy checks to detect unauthorized subletting or abandonment. * Accurately record findings and report any breaches or maintenance requirements. * Liaise with tenants, contractors, and housing officers as necessary. Requirements * Previous experience in property inspections, housing management, or a related field. * Strong knowledge of housing standards and tenancy processes. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * Highly organized with strong attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. * Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle—motorbike preferred for efficient city travel. * Proficiency in using mobile devices or tablets for inspection reporting. Desirable Qualifications * Experience within the social housing sector. * Knowledge of health & safety and safeguarding protocols. * Relevant qualifications in housing, property management, or health & safety.
