The vacancy AIS is looking for an enthusiastic Test and Development Technician to join our Materials Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a variety of tests, analysing materials performance, and assisting in the development of innovative solutions to enhance our subsea buoyancy technology. The role involves working closely with Development Engineers and Materials Technologists to ensure products meet industry standards and operational requirements. Responsibilities will include: * Support development, testing, and qualification of new materials and products. * Develop and document test procedures and methodologies. * Undertake hand calculations, analyse and interpret data, and author technical reports. * Arrange and participate in the preparation of material samples to meet qualification requirements. * Sample preparation and testing in line with industry specifications. * Write technical reports to a necessary standard for publication to clients. * Ensure that all equipment is kept in good order and suitably calibrated/serviced. * Keep the laboratory and associated test facilities in a clean, tidy and fully functional condition. * Establish and maintain test procedures and methods of testing. * Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for testing equipment. * Assess the suitability of risk assessments for tasks undertaken, to include the implementation of new safe working procedures where necessary. * Support the business in continuous improvement initiatives.
